Instrument diagnosis
Bring the instrument in and we will tell you what it needs. A diagnosis is a quick and inexpensive way to learn the true condition of your guitar, bass or mandolin before you commit to any service work.
About
Not sure what is wrong with your instrument? Or perhaps you want to check the condition of a guitar you have just bought or inherited? A diagnosis is the right place to start, with no obligation and no hidden costs.
During the visit we assess the condition of the instrument in detail, advise on the best options and explain what any repair or setup would cost. You stay in control of every next step.
The service covers electric, bass, acoustic and classical guitars, as well as mandolins, banjos and other plucked string instruments.
What the diagnosis includes
A conversation about the instrument
We start by talking. We ask about the history of the instrument, how you use it and what worries you. Every detail matters: when it was last serviced, how it is stored, whether anything has changed in how it plays or sounds.
Precise measurements
We check all the key parameters: string height, neck relief, intonation and fret condition. We assess the tuners, the bridge and the nut, and on electric guitars the electronics and pickups as well. Nothing escapes our attention.
A report and recommendations
At the end you get a clear, readable report on the condition of the instrument together with specific recommendations. You will know what needs attention now, what is worth doing later, and why. No technical jargon, just plain language.
