Pracownia Gitar is a place born out of a love of instruments, of music, of craft, and out of a wish to find a path of my own in life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My name is Andrzej Ostrowski and since 2020 I have been running the first professional guitar service on Ursyn\u00f3w in Warsaw. From the very beginning we wanted to build a place grounded in solid engineering knowledge, where every problem with an instrument can be reduced to concrete, measurable parameters, while still answering the nuances and the subtle needs of musicians, amateur and professional alike.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n

Repairing your instruments since 2017<\/p><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

I am a wood technology engineer by training, a graduate of SGGW in Warsaw specialising in the conservation of historic wood. I also have a musical education from a state music school, where I studied piano, although in practice I have been playing bass and mandolin for years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since I started working in the trade in 2017 I have had more than 4,000 conversations with guitarists about their problems with their gear. That meeting of two worlds, a scientific approach to geometry and the properties of wood on one side and hands-on stage experience on the other, is what lets me diagnose instruments effectively today. It means I can translate what you feel while playing (for example that the guitar is stiff or dull) into specific work at the bench, so that the result matches your expectations and your needs.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

An instrument that does not fight you<\/h2>

Our goal<\/p><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Our philosophy rests on a simple assumption: the gear should simply not get in the way of your playing. We always set a guitar up for the particular person and their playing style, never to rigid tables found on the internet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We divide this approach into two situations that we understand very well:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you are a hobby player: we know that with everything else going on you sometimes have only two evenings a week, half an hour each, for yourself. That time is your safety valve and your chance to clear your head. Your instrument has to be in a state where playing is pure relaxation. Fighting a stiff action or chords that will not play in tune is the last thing you need in those moments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you are a professional musician: we know the realities of the stage and the studio. We know that an instrument in a professional's hands has to be personalised to the limit and absolutely reliable. We configure the gear so that at the decisive moment it is purely an extension of your artistry, not a technical obstacle to overcome.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We work with complete honesty. Before we pick up any tools we need to know your style. The force and the way you strike the strings, your preferred tunings, the genre you play, the size of your hands: all of it matters. We do not set guitars up to generic, rigid tables. We set them up for the particular person.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A well set-up guitar should work with the musician, not against them. Come to the workshop and let us see what can be drawn out of your instrument.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n
